Süheyla Betül Tuncer (MSc Psychologist) graduated from Istanbul Aydın University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology in 2014. She continued her academic career at Istanbul Bilgi University with her thesis titled “The Effect of Traumatic Experiences of Substance-Addicted Individuals and Their Families on the Addiction Treatment Process” in the Trauma and Disaster Studies Applied Mental Health master’s program in 2017. During his undergraduate life, She had internship experiences in child, adolescent and adult mental health in institutions such as Çağlayan Courthouse, Bakırköy Psychiatric Hospital, Afyon Kocatepe Research Hospital, Afyon Kocatepe State Hospital, Balıklı Rum Hospital, Moodist Psychiatry and Neurology Hospital, Turkish Airlines TAV, Beylikdüzü Guidance Research Center, Private Kindergartens, Bahçeşehir College, European Rehabilitation Center
In 2013-15, she worked as a human resources assistant at the Istanbul World Trade Center Mark &Spencer, at the same time as a guidance at Educational Sciences Secondary School, after that as a psycho-pedagogical consultant in private kindergardens.
While working as an assistant to a specialist counselor in 2015-2017, she worked in the field of traumatic life experiences with child and adult clients. She held group workshops on resilience with gifted children and interviews with parents on pedagogical support. In 2017, she carried out individual and group work focused on trauma healing with refugee children and women in the empowerment project of the Istanbul Ministry of Development with the Eyüpsultan District Governorate. Afterwards, she worked as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Disaster Situation and Disaster Management at Istanbul Bilgi University, and carried out academic projects and studies.
In 2018, she worked as an expert in the psycho-developmental support studies of the children of bank employees in the “kindergarten at work” project in cooperation with BASME (an international kindergarten).
In 2019, she conducted trauma therapy sessions with children and adults in the adaptation project for refugees in Ankara UOSSM Mental Health Center, mainly in group work focused on awareness, in individual interviews. While she was working in this center, she organized workshops for children, adolescents, trainers, parents and staff on issues such as refugee psychology and the development of self-care skills of employees at Ankara Turkish Red Crescent and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Later, she gives sessions in Turkish and English in the ‘Online Psychological Support’ project for foreign and local young university students, which is the European Union Project of ARFADA, which she worked in 2020-21. In this time, she made some workshop, group therapy about ‘Self-care’, ‘Psychological First Aid’, ‘Coping Skills for anxious’ and also individual sessions. At the same time, she continues her online and face-to-face individual and group studies at the Korteks Psychological Counseling Center, which she is the founder of.
